Meet the face behind the posts

Hello! I’m Jamie, and my journey with fitness and nutrition began as a child.

I was born with asthma. As a kid I struggled a lot to keep up with those around me. I heavily relied on asthma medication and steroids to function. I spent many days in the emergency room and on oxygen. I was always tired and slow, and I felt like I would never achieve anything physically

Then one day a doctor told me that I needed to start running to improve my lung capacity. Which began my love-hate relationship with running—I hated the run but I loved how I felt after it.

Over the years, I have also struggled with several autoimmune diseases and health issues such as Hashimoto’s, eosinophilic esophagitis, and arthritis, but with exercise and good nutrition I have not only been able to manage these issues but thrive despite them.

I don’t exercise to get skinny; I exercise for my overall health, both physical andemotional. I have struggled with depression and anxiety, and studies have shown that the endorphins such as dopamine (also known as the happy hormone) are released and engaged as we exercise.

My desire is to help women be the best version of themselves, both physically and emotionally. I want to help woman overcome identity and health issues through fitness, to gain confidence in themselves and be healthy for themselves. I aim to encourage woman with autoimmune or lung disorders that they can make progress and feel better through nutrition and fitness.
